Overview
Business Context:
The Paris Agreement provides a global framework to combat climate change, aiming to limit global warming to well below 2°C and ideally to 1.5°C. It also focuses on enhancing countries' ability to address climate impacts and supporting their efforts.
As part of its commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050, Credit Suisse has initiated several projects. This particular initiative aims to equip credit risk analysts with a climate risk assessment tool, helping them make informed decisions by integrating climate-related insights into the credit risk evaluation process.
About the Project:
The climate risk vulnerability assessment tool is an application designed to assist credit risk analysts in assessing the potential impact of a lending or financing decision on a company's ability to achieve its net-zero emissions goals.

Breaking down the project
The initial user research and design thinking workshop was done by a different team. My involvement in the project started with leading the design delivery along with one more designer. The project operated in the agile delivery model by breaking down the requirements into multiple epics and stories.
Collaborating with the internal team
Considering the domain was new for the team, we worked with business analysts and risk analyst officers to understand and break down the detailed requirements. It required a considerable amount of secondary and primary research with business teams.
Outcome
As a major initiative to tackle Climate risk, the application proved to be a stepping stone in the journey of analysts who used to go through multiple tools to fetch data, synthesize and provide recommendations. The application currently is being utilised by Credit risk officers and helps them in effective decision-making to predict the impact on the Net Zero goal.
